Orlando and Mcdonalds
Marci, how many macdonald bucks do we each get? I was thinking perhaps we could all get happy meals. then the kids would be set for christmas. Also, I am not sure Mcdonalds and orlando will make a good combination. Can you see him at the playland? We would be kicked out of the resturaunt. Just a few thoughts. I don't think you want to be embarrassed with him there. YOu know Pasco has a great area for reserving in the back near the bathroom. Jana

September is Bountiful!
I was just looking @ Sept. calendar. WoW!! I think it is the most, overall, family Birthday month, with the addition of Alan on the 16th and Dave on the 22nd!
Mikaela, you are a glutton for punishment! Good thing that you are young! Glad to hear that your Primary program was successful. Our's is in a couple of weeks. The pict. makes me want to be a kid again.
Potato harvest is well underway. This year we only fill the storages, so not quite the pressure. I am on my way to "the cities" to pick up a phone for Felipe, I think his is buried somewhere in the north forty! Have a great day. Grandma K.
P.S. Aubrey is a doll!

IT'S OVER!
Well today was our big Primary Program. I am so glad that it's all over with. We had a practice yesterday and did a big carnival afterwards. The kids had a great time! It was so much work, and I'm just tired tonight after it's all said and done. I did the music today in Primary and had to hop on one foot (in heels) while singing "Do as I'm Doing" Yeah, I think I pulled a muscle in my thigh. That's probly the most physical exercise I've had in a while! Sad to say! lol! Anyways, I thought I'd post a few pictures of my Primary kids and our carnival. It was so fun! ~Mikaela

My Two Sense
This is just me, so don't go based upon me, but for us, it would be better to have the Halloween Party on a Saturday just because there's pretty much no way we'd come down on a Monday. I know everyone else lives closer and a Monday might work best, so really, no hurt feelings if that's the route taken! We want to host another Halloween Party this year anyway. Just let us know the date. I'll be sure to start working on my Calendar page soon! Hope everyone's having a good week! ~Mikaela

my first day as a college student...
Today was my first day of classes. And it was kinda interesting. To start out, it was an absolute nightmare trying to find a parking spot today. I drove around for like 5 minutes, realized I had 5 minutes to get to class, and just parked my car somewhere and hoped I wouldn't get a ticket. Then came my 9:00 Calc class. Which I'm technically NOT enrolled in. I'm enrolled in the 12:00 class, but the teacher said I could attend the 9:00 class instead. Which is cool with me, since my brain pretty much dies after 11:30. But anyway...I went to the building it was supposed to be in, and found out that it was instead at another building...like halfway across campus!! So I bumped into 2 other people going there, and we eventually found the right building. But then we realized that none of us remembered the room number we were supposed to go to. Smart us, right? Well, the guy knew the prof, so we just peeked our heads in looking for the right class and eventually found it. But there were no seats left. Joyous. But we eventually got things worked out. I just need to talk to the prof tomorrow and make sure it's okay if I come to the 9:00 class. I hope it is...because I'm going to take an institute class at 12:00. Then I had my honors class, which I made it to okay and everything. Actually, one of the girls from band (who I also went to dm camp with) is in my class, so that was cool. Class was boring...we just went over the syllabus and stuff. Then the prof let us out like 40 min early (it was a 2 hr class, btw). So another girl and I went to the bookstore to get some books. Oh and I already have homework. But yeah, let's just say that the line at the bookstore was CRAZY LONG!!! I'm definitely not going to buy books on the first day of class anymore. I seriously waited in line for at least 20 min. Then I went back to my car. Which DIDN'T have a ticket, thank heavens!!! I was so dang excited!! =D But anyway, then I went back to the apartment and made lunch. Then I had to come back for band, which was pretty boring, and I'm about to head over to another bookstore to see if I can find some used books, because there aren't any more at the EWU bookstore. Bye guys! Love ya'll!

IT'S CALENDAR TIME!!
Yes, remember the scrapbook page. I would like to have them by the Halloween party. Talking of Halloween party--how does the Saturday before the scary day sound? Or, we could do it for FHE on the Monday, but I know w/school that makes it tough. Give me your feed back.???? Please make the scrapbook pages go "landscape" (same as last year's calendar). You always have better family pictures than I do! You can choose a holiday, vactation or just whatever you want!
On with the "white beast" story. Dad took it to Richland to another transmission outfit. They put it on their computer and I guess the problem is probably in the wiring somewhere. maybe engine computer?? (but, we had that tested a month ago and it was fine) so the "white beast" is now McCurley's problem! We bought an 02 Chevy Duramax w/ only 30,000 miles (maybe that's a bad omen!). It is also a dually. I was kind of hoping for that and then Dad wouldn't be using it on the farm! It is white, too. So after we get the 5th wheel apparatace (sp?) mounted, we will be ready for our maiden voyage! Probably in the snow!!
Hey, Kelly F. So great to hear that your parents are heading "down under." ( In case you haven't heard, they are going to Perth, Australia for mission.)
Dane looked good in JV football game on Monday night! Hear that Jase has asked someone to upcoming dance???
Enough rambling. Love, Grandma

First off, happy birthday to all who have had birthdays this month. There are so many I can't keep track of them all. Plus, I lost my family birthday calendar, so I am out of the loop! Anyhow, I hope the September birthdays have had great ones! Not much is going on in our lives. Scott and I went to Zions on Saturday. We had a lot of fun. It is sure pretty. Scott got a little worried when I said "it would be easy for someone to throw their spouses off one of the cliffs." Of course I didn't mean him, but it sure would be easy! I really wanted to go to Colorado City to see the polygamists, but Scott didn't think it would be worth our time. I was pretty disappointed. Anyways, we had a great time. We got to do some shopping at the outlet malls, and it was great to get out of the city. Scott started tutoring for high school algebra students a couple nights a week. He enjoys doing it. Its hard for me to think of anyone enjoying algebra. haha. The weather is starting to cool down (it was around 90 degrees today)and we are loving it. It feels so good to be cooler. I hope everyone is doing well. We enjoy reading other posts. We especially love to see the pictures! I especially enjoyed Orlando's post! Keep them coming!
Love,
Scott and Kelli S.

I was talking to my sister today and she was all like, alan is so upsetbecaseu it's hs b'day and he has to work, etc. I am not saying that I am totally a bad sister-in-law, but I did space just a tinsey bit. Oh, and I realize that it's Mikaela's and Kira's birthday as well.... hopefuly I'm not leaving anyone out. Happy birthday, September was a busy month. Happy Birthday Alan!!
Yes, Happy, Happy Birthday Alan!! Wow, What I wouldn't give to feel like 24 again--but, I don't want to start at 24!!!
I got out of surgery about 9am and was home by noon. I am so stiff and sore--I think they put me on the "rack" ?? and stretched my legs. Otherwise, I am doing okay. They did the "Lithotripsy" machinge to break up the stones so I guess that I am still suppose to pass them Oh, yeah! I'm kind of laying around and trying to get Dad to wait on me hand and foot--actually, he's doing pretty good job of it! Have a great Saturday! Love, Mom

Counting down: one day left!
Sounds like I'm looking forward to surgery, actually, I'm not, but I'd like to get rid of this nagging back ache and feeling less than ambitious! (then I won't have an excuse). I got 5 novels read while I've been vegging!
Myaela, what are you practicing for? a concert? Will you be playing @ home football? I talked to Mikaela yesterday, she said that Mindy had come up /w Gwen to take stuff up so I guess that she is moving this week.
Nichole, you did it! Guess that I'd better get to work, I have Missionaries to feed tonight and I need to decide what to fix. Love, Grandma K.

Lincoln City
Okay, so I messed up a little on the first blog. I didn't let you know who was writing, so it is Nichole again. I thought that I would try to post a picture too. Sam and I took our boys to Lincoln City, Oregon over the Fourth of July. We had such a great time. The boys loved to play in the water and on the beach. The highlight of our trip was probably discovering starfish, anemones, and other sea creatures in a tide pool. Our kids definitely liked discovering all of the animals up close. We had just been reading a book about ocean animals, so Ethan recognized the anemones and starfish.
I really don't have a whole lot to say, but I wanted to jump on to the blog-wagon and see if I could actually figure out how to use this thing. I used to be quite the computer person and then we didn't have internet for the longest time, and everything has seemed to change so much that it is all foreign to me.
I am watching Lisa's kids again this year. I am beginning to think that Jarin isn't as much of a handful as my own kids are. I just worry about the things that Jarin will be picking up from my own kids.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MIKAELA!!!
So, glad to see how much Aubrey is growing--wow, it doesn't seem that long ago that we heard about her arrival. Cydney, I like those pictures!! and yes, I do have the best looking grandkids on the Blog!!--including those with red hair!!. Mikaela called and said that McKay had taken off walking today!! What a birthday present!!
Grandpa and I left Monday afternoon, intending to go over into Montana. We got as far as Farragut State Park just before dark. So, we camped for the night. It is very pretty there with lots of pine trees and grass, but they have not had water since June and everything is showing dry. We left the next morning and drove to Bay View. It is a picture perfect town on Lake Pend O'Reille. Quite a bit of history there. Guess the lake is the deepest fresh water lake in the US and miners used it to go by paddle boat to the gold mines in Montana. It is close to Farragut, which used to be a military base during WWII. Anyway, shortly after getting back on to Highway 95 going toward Sandpoint, our lovely "white beast" (that had gotten back from repair) started making funny jerking sounds in the transmission. So Grandpa thought we better head home---We arrived back about sundown on Tuesday! So, now is the question, is it normal noise or problem--we like to think it is normal when we see how much it will cost to replace it and how little they want to give us on trade in. Oh well, join us another hour to hear the updated saga!!! Have a great one all you many birthday people. Love, Grandma K.

On my own...
Yeah, that's right. So I moved in to my Cheney apartment yesterday and got everything unpacked. Let me just say that I officially HATE packing and unpacking. It's so time consuming and boring! But everything is out of boxes (except for my fragile stuff, which I need to put the shelf up before I can unpack it) and ready to go. I did come up with a list of stuff I forgot, and I also have 3 boxes of stuff to take back home. =D Less (stuff) = more (space)!! =D I do have to admit that it's kinda weird to be on my own. I have to cook all my own meals, do my own shopping and laundry...and everything! It's crazy! But I'm handling it quite well, I think. My roommate and I are taking turns fixing dinner and doing dishes and stuff, so it's going well.
Band camp started today, and I just had an absolute blast. We didn't do any marching today; we just got a lot of music (both pep band and our show) and did a lot of reading on it. I'm so excited. There are some really cool songs. And the show is going to be great! It's a latin jazz show, and I'm just absolutely loving it. Our second show was supposed to be based on the music of Queen, but the director told us today that he couldn't find a GOOD Queen show, and he didn't want to make us play a show that wasn't good, so we're doing a show based on a rock musical...I think the name is Tommy or something. *shrug* I was really looking forward to playing Queen, but I guess it's not meant to be. I honestly have no idea what the new show is about, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see!
Well, I am getting cold (I'm sitting outside in Eastern's campus to connect to their wireless network because we don't have the internet at my apartment) so I think I'm going to wrap up my post. =D I'll update again when I have some new news!

Cydney The Big S-E-N-I-O-R
Alright, so I checked to website yesterday after saying goodbye to myaela, and I saw just how cute Kortney's Pics were. So Right then and there I decided that you all were missing out on me... lol, I am just kidding, but I really am posting some pics just so ya can all see. I haven't chosen the finalists yet, but here are a few. Grandma, I am sorry that you are so miserable, if there's anythign i can do to help, let me know! Good luck with that surgery. I am doing well at Pasco; I LOVE IT! If only I could've spent last year here as well. But I know that thing happen for a reason, and maybe I needed to be at Richland. Anyways, I think that McKae is adorable... but then again I haven't really been around to see the other grandchildren, so I can't be the judge. Dave, welcome to the family. I expect the bribes to start flowing in if you want to get any tickets to Utah games ;) Haha, j/k. But yeah, I love you all and I can't wait for Christas or Thanksgiving when I can see all the fam again. speaking of thing, I am actually going to go down to Utah on the 22nd and 23rd for an official. What that means is basiclly I get my airfare, food, lodgins, activities (everything) paid for. They are coming down here around october 5th ish to visit me as well. But umm.. Bulldog Basketball starts around November, and I hope to see a few of you there! well, I have to go, got to get up early tomorrow. Love you all, Cydney.

The CUTEST grandchild!
So mom claims she has the cutest grandchildren, which she does, but I just wanted to post a picture of THE CUTEST ONE so that there was no question! I know she spoke of McKay, having spent some time with him just the day before posting that! So I'm sure she had him in mind when saying this! haha! SO here's a picture of my boys at Silverwood in July!
Well one bright spot is that today McKay took about 5 steps. He was laughing and smiling because of course we made a big deal out of it. I'm hoping that this trend continues because I'm getting tired of lugging him around! Anyways, hope everyone's doing great! It was good to see a few of you while in Connell yesterday! We'll see you soon! ~Mikaela
Pictures???
It's Finally Final! :)
Ok, I hear this is THE way to get family news out fast, sooooo........Dave and I are finally engaged. I'm sure this comes as a total shocker to you you! Ha!!! :) (Half of you already know that since you were part of the whole scheme on Friday!) We were at the football game in Connell on Friday night when Kent suddenly got a migrane and had to go home during the end of first quarter. At the end of the second quarter Lisa asked if I'd go and get her van because Kent wasn't going home. She told me the keys were in the van and I didn't need to go into the house. Well, we get to their house and find the van in the driveway with NO keys in it. Dave heads to the door and says we just need to go in and get them. I was telling him NO, Lisa said they'd be somewhere in the car. Anyways, he finally coaxed me to go in the house and look for the keys. Boom, it was dark except for a few dozen tea lights all lit, soft music, chocolate covered strawberries and sparking cider, oh and I can't forget the beautiful two dozen long stem roses. It was fun to have a few moments together, but come to find out, Kent was outside the whole time waiting. The party planner had to see his efforts! :) Thanks Kent....it was great. After about 10 minutes we went back to the game and bless Lisa and Kent's hearts once again, Chuck Lee announces our engagement over the PA system at the end of the game.
We are planning on getting married Friday, November 10th in the Columbia River Temple. Time is to be determined (I'll let you know within the next week or so), but I'm thinking morning. There is no school that day because of Veteran's Day, so we figured most people wouldn't have to take time off of work. More details of it all to come later.
David is planning on moving up here and we are cramping everything into the trailer for now until we can figure something else out. More details of that later too!
Just wanted all of you to know and thank each of you for all of your support. We love you and appreciate all you do for us. You are the best family ever...Dave always reminds me how lucky I am, and he is excited to be joining our wonderful family.
Until later with more details....love you all,
Marci and David

Knight Family
Knight Family
Hey, I like all the wonderful pictures! They are so great and I'm glad that you are sharing them. Well, I go to Kadlec on Friday (15) for "stone" removal! Too bad the stones aren't worth money!!! Just glad that I will be "out" this time! Guess they will do a little bit of bladder update too. Sure hope that it get rid of my feeling "ucky" and a terrible back ache. So glad that Lisa has been willing to host the RS Visiting Teaching Brunch that was scheduled at my house for the 16th. Somehow, I don't think I will be too spry by then.
Well, we got the "white beast" (Dually) back and so all was supposed to be fixed! Dad moved the 5th wheel out of the driveway a week ago and then when he went to move it a couple of days ago, the beast wouldn't start so he "jumped" it, but it still wouldn't start so he put the battery charger on it. Anyway, found out the alternator diaode (?) was out, so got a new alternator--but then the air-conditioner wouldn't work--so we have it in Tri-Cities getting that fixed! Oh, what a pain. Too bad we can't afford to trade it off, but I think everything is almost new now (except engine)! And let's cross our fingers on that!! We may leave and go somewhere (??) if we can get the air going because we need to "test" drive the beast because I think the people in Spokane that replaced the transmission may have some kind of "warranty" and I'm not sure it will be in effect next spring!
Kortney, I think I agree with your Mom. The white shirt picture shows more of you, but both of them are great. Cydney, How was your BD? Did you do anything fun? How is bulldog country? How did we get such cute grandkids!!
I expect Mikaela today--she is going to teach @ Connell tommorrow. It's also Fall Festival and Becky's kids show their lambs. It looks like "camper city" at the livestock area. I've never seen so many RV's!
I need to leave and go to Kahlotus visting teaching so I'll talk to you later. love, Grandma

Knight Family
Knight Family
Well, this site seems to be dominated by females so I thought I'd be the first Knight guy to actually make a post. We've been busy getting back into the swing of school with homework and all of the activities like soccer, volleyball, and music lessons. To top it all off, I've been trying to install a sprinkler system so that we can plant grass within the next few weeks before it gets too cold.
Anyhoo, I'll see if I can actually post some photos of the kids on this thing. Take care...we love you all.
Love, Orlando.

Hello from Fabulous Las Vegas!
Well, I really enjoy reading everyone's posts, so I figured I'd give everyone an update on our lives here in Las Vegas. We just moved about a month ago into our own place,so it's been nice to have our own space. We do have an extra bed, so if anyone feels like visiting, we would love to have you! I just got a job working at Coldwell Banker. I enjoy it, but I guess it's definately not my "dream job." My dream job would be sitting by the beach all day, so I guess I might as well get used to working here! Scott got hired on full time at Bechtel, so we have truly been blessed. We are very fortunate, but I'm sad that we don't live closer to my Washington family. Scott's dad was recently diagnosed with cancer, so we've had all kinds of challenges lately. We are hoping for the best and he and the doctors are optimistic. Mom was recently down here, which was so nice. I didn't want her to leave, especially after she did all of my ironing! I felt guilty but I didn't complain!! That's about all thats going on in our lives. Scott and I went to the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill concert on Saturday night. It was really great! I guess its one of the perks of living in Sin City! Too bad I don't feel safe driving down the street without my doors locked. Oh the joys of living in the city!! I hope everyone is doing well. Mom keeps me updated on the latest of "family news" but sometimes she forgets who she tells! So, I appreciate the updates from everyone. Korrine, your baby is adorable! I want more pictures when you get a chance! Kortney, I can't tell you which picture I like better. They both look good. Cydney, where have you been?? I feel like your one of those distant relatives that you only see every 3 years!! I'm kidding! I'm excited for you playing at Utah. You'll do great. I love you all!!

Mykin's baptism
Mykin is going to be baptized on Sept. 24. on Sunday. Everyone is invited. We are not sure on a time yet. Probably 5 p.m. we will let you know. Jana
Here are two pictures of Kortney that she can't decide which she likes better for her senior picture so how about everyone helping her choose. I like the one where she is wearing the white shirt but I think she likes the one where she is in the tree. I think there is something going on mentally there that she can't see but I've aways thought she was up a tree. of course this could all change tomorrow with her. Also Jana has changed her email addres to janablack@clearwire.net have a good day.
