MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

To all Knight and Friends! Hope you all have a great Christmas. We are going to miss Kyle and Mikaela's families! Thanks Cydney for the pict! Maybe Jase can asked Santa for a new pair of pants! Sounds like you all had fun! Just too bad we are not all closer. We surely wished the outcome of your last two BB games had been better. But, oh well. That is life. Wish that Kris was able to enjoy everything; we wish that we could share some of his pain. Hang in there, guy! We love you. Merry Christmas. Grandpa and Grandma K.

Thanks to mikaela and charles, it was even better. The scott knight family came up too and saw a game and then we rocked out to guitar hero. Lol, i think that scott got better at it every time. But pretty sure madison can still beat him ;) love ya scott! but yeah, we went to temple square and saw the lights and man they were beautiful. Hopefully you all get a chance soon! Love you much and I'll be in touch. Cydney

Just a quick explanation...

So I decided to change the "other sites" gadget from just links to the other blogs/websites to making it a "blog" gadget. So now underneath each link (that is a blog) it will tell you how long ago that person updated. Just thought I'd clarify! Love you all!

Well family, I am sure that all of you have heard about my um interesting halloween costume. Let's just say it is something my team definitely would have chosen. Anyhow, halloween was fun, except for the dreadful costume. I actually am gonna put a plug in for Utah basketball and mention that first game is the 8th! Love you all and take care, Cyd

Life in Utah!

We're getting settled into our house in Utah. Our house is about 90% put together...we don't have pictures or anything hung yet, we're still waiting for Marci's visit to do it! haha! However, we do have most of our stuff put away and organized...well I should say the stuff we're pulling out. It'll come together, hopefully today.

McKay started school on Monday. His teachers are Margaret and Maria. He has I believe about 10-12 kids in his class. He goes Monday through Friday from 8:10 to 11:10. He's adjusting, but he's doing okay for the most part. He loves going, which is good. He loves having a backpack and toting it around.

Since we've moved here, McKay's taken over our coffee table in the living room. He has turned it into his downstairs train table. He brings excess tracks down from his real train table and creates his own tracks downstairs. It's kind of nice to see him playing with some regular stuff for long periods of time.

Charles has had some days off work to help get the house organized. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. We tend to go and do things rather than spend all the time we need to working. He goes back on Monday though, and I think I'll be a little bored without having him as a distraction.

I'm still working on getting all of my things complete so I can start working as a sub, and hopefully as a full-time teacher soon. Let's pray someone goes on Maternity leave or something, so I can get a job!

Other then that, our life is normalizing. We did get new phone numbers: both home and cell numbers. Be looking for the updated phone list soon to have them on there (or get them from mom/grandma) if you need them! We miss you all!

Here's a picture of McKay enjoying the stairs at our new house!

Here he is on his first day of school...he was so anxious to get there, he kept trying to sneak out and didn't want to pose for the picture! :)

more cabin pictures

Bergens b-day party

It's pretty bad when we have to go to the blog because our college son will not call us ever! I'm sure that if i took all his moneyu out of his account he might be calling.

We went to the cabin this weekend with BErgen and some of his friends for his birthday. We then went to Jubilee and hiked the 2.6 miles and canoed around the lake. We saw a bald eagle there and saw or rather smelled a dead dear in the water on our hike. It was fun. It had rained so it was nice and moist everywhere. We are going to attempt to put some pictures on here.

hey family!

sorry it took us this long for are family to figure out this whole blog thing! lol, now that i figured it out i dont no what to say, um... cheer is been going pretty good so far, except for when we lose. its depressing, i am so used to the football team winning! i just need to get used to the fact that were not so hot anymore lol o well life goes on. well here are some pictures of madison, macy and i before a football game.

WOw! Dolls!

I was thinking that you go to college to get "dolls" but, now I believe that you two
are really into the "Church" atmosphere! I guess I was thinking "live" dolls! So what are you doing?
Jase, are you liking school (that's what you go to class for)? Kortney, I haven't heard about your new roommates? Jase, is Kortney running interference for you?
It's begining to feel a bit like fall--cold night, hot days. You guys are probably about ready for snow? haha.
Kortney, hope that you are still beating the guys away! Have fun, you only are young once! Love, Grandma K

The Jesus Doll

Well I have been getting queations about the Jesus doll pictures that Kortney, Jase, and I took. Lemme just tell you that only Nicole Behrends would own a doll like this. We had a bunch of great laughs.... Jase possible had the best time of us all :) So here they are... enjoy family!

Refresher Course, Shall We?

Since I've heard it through the grapevine, that a few of you technologically backwards folks can't seem to blog, I thought I'd give you an update! :)

To start a post, you must log in. The login is: rayknightfamily The password will have to be emailed to you or call mom for it!

After logging in, it will take you to a new window...select "new post" at this window.

It will bring you to a screen, where you can start typing away.

For Pictures just below the title of your post box, there is a little button that has a picture on it...click on there. Then download a picture as you would if you were attaching a file...go in and browse for the picture, select it, then hit upload.

When you are all finished typing your post, you may then publish. Go down to the bottom of the screen, find an orang box, which says, "publish post" click on that, and voila' your post is published....

I think everyone should post 2-3 times in a row, and it will become like second nature. Soon our blog will be hopping like days gone by, and I (Mikaela) will get to see my nieces and nephews through pictures, since I am no longer a Washingtonian!

WE TOOK A FISHING TRIP!!

Hey Cyd, thanks for the pictures! They even look like us---not to confuse with the P.O. photos! We, the Harris' and R. Knight's left Thurs (late) and went accross from Camp Wooten to a Campground. It was right on the Tuccannon River so it was great. Just scary to see how close the forest fire got to C. Wooten. It was a great trip with not much for fishing success, but since we only went out once and the three Harris males each caught one (small had to throw back), it was fun--maybe not so much for Spencer, who Grandma knocked off the 5th wheel step not once, but twice! Probably scarred him for life. We had some great dutch oven meals thanks to the H. family!
Low and Behold who should appear on our doorstep this morning (Sat) but Jared Black. He was on a Scout bike trek! Maybe next year we will camp some more!! Love, Grandma K.

Hey family! It's the long lost Cydney writing from the U. Grandma-sorry it took me so long to get these posted. You actually have Kortney to thank for getting on my case! Mikaela, charlse, kelli, scott- you guys rcok, thanks for visiting. With that being said, hope to see the rest of you all soon. And I'm gonna put my lil plug in here for Utah Women's Basketball and say come to a game- we're gonna be good as always. Love you all, enjoy the photos. Jase makes me laugh :)

Update from PA

I really need to get better at taking pictures. Ill have to take some over the next week so everyone can see how big Aubrey is getting. i bought her a sweater the other day and it was a 6T!! I couldnt believe it! She now sleeps all the way through the night in her own bed and is going potty on the toilet. Its been a pain, but i want her out of diapers by the time the new baby is born. Alan is working a ton. He just recently got a second job at wal-mart to put some extra money in the bank for when we move in March/April. My stomach is finally starting to poke out. I got over the morning sickness about 3 weeks ago. I did go swimming the other day and can still fit in my pre-pregnancy suit with extra room. YEY! I will post pictures as soon as I can. Im leaving to go to DC today so I'll have some extra time to get some good pics.

We really miss everyone a ton! Ill post soon. xo

HERE ARE THE PICTS!

This is a mini pickup that Dad just got (it' kind of a cross between a pickup and a 4 wheeler! (Scott got 2 of them). The Stagecoach was in the shop and could not get a good shot with all of "stuff" around! Mom

Tuesday, July 08, 2008

We are having a senior crisis!

Well, now we are owners of a Stage coach. I'll try to get some pict taken. I'm kind of afraid that we will need a "four up" to pull it. And we've had trouble getting a horse shoe person to come up and shoe the critters! Have a great day! Love, Mom

Happy birthday!

I've also been thinking of our special angel on her 19th BD. I think we all have the same sweet wonderful feelings for her. When I think of patience, I think of her. How much uncomfort she must have endured. When you need to scratch your nose, shoo the fly away, or ask for a drink and millions of other things--I think of Cassie, with those beautiful eyes that spoke tons and you knew that she could communicate! We truly love her and hope she will wait for the rest of us-- that can scratch our noses, and show us the way! Because she did that while she was here for her short stay. Love and kisses Cassie and to your family, those Sisters who did not know her-- you need to never forget that when life hands us the tough things--that we still can look to Cassie. Eternity will give you the things that life denied! We will always learn from you! Love, Grandma K

Happy Birthday Cassie!

Today would be Cassie's 19th birthday, and I've found myself thinking of her a lot today. I'm not sure about the rest of you, so I thought I'd write some of my thoughts on our blog, and I hope others will take the time to write their rememberances of her in the future. I remember when Cassie was born and brought home from the hospital. It was so fun to be able to go over to Scott and Kelly's trailer after school to see the new baby. I'm sure Kelly really appreciated all her little helpers at the time. I'll also remember her infectious laugh. She would have us all laughing when she would be sitting in her wheel chair giggling. She had such a sweet smile. Cassie also had the most beautiful blue eyes that just sparkled. She truly was such a sweet addition to our family. I'm grateful to her parents who allowed us the opportunity to look after her. I realize now as a mother of a difficult child, it isn't easy to find people to help. So I'm glad that she allowed us to learn from Cassie and to be involved in her life. I look forward to the day that our family can see her again. Scott and Kelly, we haven't forgotten this sweet little spirit that was sent to your home. You two were such great examples to me; never complaining about the difficulties you faced. I appreciate that so much. Cassie, we love and miss you!

Thanks

Mikaela, Thanks for the special words. They touched my heart! But, Moms are kind of that way!! Frankly, I believe, the Lord gave me such good kids--if I would just bring so many to earth. We have such great posterity, that I am in awe!! Love, Mom

McKay's Birthday Party!

Just to let everyone know, we are having a b-day party for McKay on Saturday the 3rd. It'll be at 3 in the afternoon. Everyone is invited. We're not doing anything special, just having cake and ice cream. So come if you want, but no worries if you can't. We understand it's an expensive trip for a piece of cake! Also, we are requesting no gifts. We just wanna see everyone, so don't feel like you've gotta bring anything if you decide to come. ~Mikaela

Finally, a job!

Yes, that's right, I finally was able to get a job. =D I'll be working for Dealer's Auto Auctions (they auction off cars to dealers). I'm not exactly sure what I'll be doing, mostly just whatever they need, I guess. It's a summer-ish job, but I will be going to an orientation May 1st and hopefully will be able to work some afternoons while I'm still in school since the quarter doesn't end until like June 11 or 12 or something like that. But yeah, I'm way excited about it. It sounds like I might even be able to drive some of the cars and show them off, lol. Anyway, I just thought I'd let you guys know that. =D

Oh, and Jeremy is currently training to be a server at his restaurant, and he'll start officially serving next week. We're pretty excited. Especially since he could possibly be able to work less days for the same, if not more, amount of money.

One more thing...I was recently contacted by Eastern's financial aid office, and apparently if I fill out this form and attach a copy of my W2's from 2006 (which I lost, so I had to call the IRS to get a transcript of them) I could qualify for financial aid & grants for THIS school year, and could receive money that I would have gotten for the previous quarters as well. So I'm pretty excited about that. Free money, here I come! lol =D

Anyway, I hope you all are doing well because we sure are! Love you all!!

Where do these kids get it from???

Mikaela!!! After reading your last blog, i realized i'm not the only one with a "curious" child! About a month ago, aubrey learned how to open the fridge. She took the chocolate syrup out and dumped it all over our bedroom floor. Then about 4 days ago, she dumped my crystal lite that i had sitting on the nightstand, all over the floor! It took about 10 hours of scrubbing, 50 dollars in chemicals to get it out, and a new carpet cleaning machine! Shes pooped in the tub the last 4 days in a row, likes to strip and run around the house naked, and it seems shes picked up your son's fettish for torturing cats! We recently got a cat and she is all over that poor thing. Sounds like we both need a vacation! lol. Kids....gotta love em'. At least your close to home.....I cant even pawn her off cause im on the other side of the US! haha. jk. Love you all!

One More Thing....

....I'm a little slow at coming up with this plan. Sorry! Anyways, I added THIS address to my safe address list to view my blog as it's private. So if you have the password and log-in to the family blog, then you can access my blog directly from here. I just thought I'd tell all of you that. It's easier then adding individual addresses! ~Mikaela

Milo's Incident

Here's Milo! Notice anything different about him?!

That's right, my darling little McKay has put toothpaste on his head. Penny's running around with pink paws from the Kool-Aid that was spilled everywhere in my kitchen. Anyone want an almost 3 year old?

Oh, and last night he took his diaper off and peed all over his bedroom floor. He needs potty-trained, but I don't have the desire to do so right now. Any takers?

Oh, and yes, btw, in the background, that IS snow. Yes, it snowed again today! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A little update

Hey there fam!

Glad everyone had a great easter. We have been going crazy trying to pack and get ready for the move on the 11th. It seems like its coming a lot faster than i'd like it. I'm very excited for our new place though. we will finally be living in a house instead of an apartment!!! YEY! We dont have to worry about neighbors below us hitting the walls or coming up to our apartment and complaining that aubrey is too loud! For that, I am VERY excited! We are moving to a farming town; very quiet, small, and very polite. You should ask my mom to google earth it for you...it literally is in the middle of nowhere....kind of reminds me of connell. haha. Alright, I've got to head out before aubrey gets into something else. We really cant afford to deal with another carpet expense! We love you all and will keep you updated with the move.

'Twas a Great Easter

Yesterday was great, excepting for Cyd and the Utes! We sat out to watch the game today and Dad was so sure that I didn't get it recorded right...I guess I didn't, so yeah, we just re-watched U play Y the second time. They did just great! The baptism was great and Lexi was the star of the day with all kinds of right choices. Even the nursery was grea...maybe it was the chicken inside the egg on my lapel--I'm trying to figure out what for next week! Korrine and Alan: the girl is definitely becoming quite a lady. Jana showed me her cell video, so cute! I've tried calling, but probably catch you at the wrong time. Good seeing everyone yesterday. Love, Grandma K.

I Went Private

Hey family! I took my blog private. I know a few of you read it religiously (and come on, let's face it, who wouldn't? I'm so entertaining, right?!) so if you want to be added to it, my email address is: mikaelaselbe@yahoo.com. Some stuff's just been going on, and I really didn't think that it would become such a big issue, but apparently it has, and I'm trying to make sure Lisa and Marci aren't caught in the cross-fire of me opening my big mouth! So for now it'll be private, but I'm sure in the future that might change! Hope you all have a great Easter, and I will try to be able to make it down, if the snow stops up here in Spokane! ~Mikaela

Oh, p.s., mom, kelli, and nichole, i've added you guys already.

Home to the Cold!

Just had a great get-away to sunny L. Vegas. Certainly was great to watch Cyd's game, but such a dissappointing results. They played the poorest I've seen them play and so the score reflected it! But, the weather was perfect and we got to have Kelly and Chris stay w/ us. Sorry, Chris for the "crazy Grandma"!! Somehow, I just did not connect "Chris" w/ Christopher. I kept thinking this is not Chris E. Anyway, Christopher must have thought I had a drink or two! Thanks to Kelli we got to go to the show "O". She did a super job of getting us the last two tickets and it was an amazing show!
Of course the way home was intermitten snow and sun. Was a massive pile up of semi's and cars (mostly semi's) after leaving Tremonton. But, snow dogged us somewhat all of the way home.
Good thing we got home for Sunday, because my nursery sub did not show up! Great group in nursery and after V.teaching, I found out that Jada (Louise P) had gotten up to get water from the sink at home to water everything--our lesson was on water and Deliska had the kids water a plant! Guess they do absorb things!
Well, Cyd it looks like you gals have your work "cut out" for you...Purdue, huh, then Tennessee, What a schedule! But, you will do it. Good luck. Love, Grandma K.

Its's a miracle!!!! We are in fact ALIVE and kickin'

Alrighty, so honestly the reason I've been so horrible at posting blogs is because i totally forgot! Lame excuse i know, but its the truth! The first picture is of AUbrey eating a Krispy Creme Donut. Alan brought them home for breakfast one morning and she loved it. As you can tell from the picture, shes just a little protective of the sprinkles;) I tried to take it away from her cause i thought she was finished, and that caused war between mommy and daughter! The Second pic is of ALan and Aubrey on the couch. He was playing Halo and aubrey sat right next to him and cuddled until she fell asleep. I love this pic...2 loves of my life sitting next to each other.

So I enjoyed seeing all the pics of everyone and the comments they posted. Its good to see how everyone is doing since we cant be there a lot of the time.

Everything is super here in Maryland. We just had a cold front move in and its FREEZING! Oh well...i better enjoy it while i can cause summer is coming and i KNOW ill be complaining about the heat and humidity quite often. We are in the process of looking for a place to live as our lease is up next month. Alan gets out of the military in a year and we are preparing for that. He will be going to school full time after he gets out. We are all great...aubrey is wearing 3T clothes now. I cant keep her in clothes for more than a month and its costing us a pretty penny. lol. Alan is working a lot and training people at work. As for me, ive got my hands full chasing a 19 month old around th house all day. I spend most of my extra time making treats for the pharmacy(where alan works). Thats about it other than alan and I are now working out 3 days a week and im on a diet. I cant have any sweets....do you know how hard that is????

We love you all and definatly miss you. Aubrey sends kisses. I'll try to get better at posting these things.HAve a great day!

Pulling Teeth...

Getting People to blog is like Pulling Teeth! So I figured that I'd post over on our family blog since I haven't done so in a while. Not much is going on up here. We're busily working to get our house on the market. We're trying to sell it ourselves, so we'll see how that goes. So this weekend I'm sure Charles will be working on fliers and whatnot.

Charles starts his job in Salt Lake on the 17th of March...so a week from Monday. We're headed down to Utah a week from today to find him somewhere to stay. So it'll be nice to get to Utah, but sad that McKay and I will be staying behind for a while.

I've applied for the English teacher job at the high school in Connell though. I'm not sure I'll get it, but at least I tried, right? If I do, I'll just stay in Connell and finish the year then come back to Spokane on weekends to show the house and maintain the yards. I have a few friends who are willing to show the house during the week if need be while I'm gone too. Just keep us in mind so we can get our house sold ASAP!

That's all from around here. Our snow's almost all melted, which is nice. Hope everyone else is doing great!

Hello from a VERY cold and snowy Rexburg

Hey guys! So turns out this is the most snow they have gotten here in about 20 years! Good thing i got to be here for it... there have also been some really cold days and then the worst is - really cold days with alot of wind. But im sure most of you know what thats like and try not to rememeber! School is going good, i have been really busy and stay in the library alot. I'm taking microbiology, anatomy and physiology, sociology, family history (i really love that class), marriage skills (okay i ended up dropping one of my classes the first day of school and i had get to one more class and this was the only one besides fenceing that would fit my schedual, so no i dont plan on using these skills for a while). A couple weekends ago i went to see cydneys game. That was so much fun. I got to see both sets of grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles, so it was an awesome trip. Yesturday was the Rexburg Temple dedication. I watched in the Hart Building. It was really nice. Well, hope everyone is doing great!

French Breakfast Muffins

Here is a recipe that I got about a year ago from Family Fun Magazine. It is really yummy and I thought you might enjoy it!

Love,

2/3 c. sugar
2 1/2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. nutmeg
1 large egg
1 c. plus 2 T. milk
6 T. butter, melted and slightly cooled
1 t. vanilla extract

Cinnamon and sugar topping:
1/2 c. sugar and 1/2 t. cinnamon
2 T. butter, melted and slightly cooled.

Instructions:
Heat oven to 375. Grease only the bottoms of 12 standard muffin cups. Measure dry ingredients and combine with a whisk. In a separate bowl whisk the egg until frothy. Blend in milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Make a well in dry ingredients and pour in the liquid mixture. Mix batter just until it's evenly blended.
Fill muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake for 15 minutes. Cool enough to handle. Then dip the tops into butter and then cinnamon and sugar mixture.

What a Fantastic Group!

Thanks Mikaela, now I know that you are still alive. The couples are kind of a motly group--oh, well what could I expect. It's a good thing that the "other half" make our Grandchildren so beautiful! I hope that everyone enjoys the blog, rather than just Mik and I! Have a great NEW YEAR!!!!! Mom

Family Christmas

Btw...

....that was my best immitation of Mark. Oh, and Mark, sorry, but there just wasn't a good picture in the oh, let's say 10 I took of you! This was your best shot! Oh, and I love the look on Jeri and Karl's faces as they're turning to see what was happening at the "fun" table!

Kids Dinner

I thought I'd post some pictures from the kids dinner we had. Thanks again mom and dad for a great evening. Sorry we missed those who were unable to attend too!
