French Breakfast Muffins

Here is a recipe that I got about a year ago from Family Fun Magazine. It is really yummy and I thought you might enjoy it!

Love,
Nichole

French Breakfast Muffins
2 c. flour
2/3 c. sugar
2 1/2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. nutmeg
1 large egg
1 c. plus 2 T. milk
6 T. butter, melted and slightly cooled
1 t. vanilla extract

Cinnamon and sugar topping:
1/2 c. sugar and 1/2 t. cinnamon
2 T. butter, melted and slightly cooled.

Instructions:
Heat oven to 375. Grease only the bottoms of 12 standard muffin cups. Measure dry ingredients and combine with a whisk. In a separate bowl whisk the egg until frothy. Blend in milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Make a well in dry ingredients and pour in the liquid mixture. Mix batter just until it's evenly blended.
Fill muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake for 15 minutes. Cool enough to handle. Then dip the tops into butter and then cinnamon and sugar mixture.

What a Fantastic Group!

Thanks Mikaela, now I know that you are still alive. The couples are kind of a motly group--oh, well what could I expect. It's a good thing that the "other half" make our Grandchildren so beautiful! I hope that everyone enjoys the blog, rather than just Mik and I! Have a great NEW YEAR!!!!! Mom

WELCOME THE NEW YEAR!

Hey! Mikaela must be sick? I miss your posts; This was a busy holiday season starting off with our "Children & their spouses" dinner at Cedars. We had (I hope) a great meal and then took "our favorite thing" gift to Mark's for the "opening." That was fun and to hear about each one's gift. The next afternoon (Sat) we (the whole "batch" met at the Connell Ward Cultural hall where Santa made his appearance and we ate "yummy" Mexican food and had a family program. A big THANKS to Chris and Becky and family for hosting the gala night. Monday night was going to be each family's own affair, except somehow the folks from Connell had to be together at Scott and Kelly B's for a turkey dinner....from there we've been partying it seems like every day. The Mark Knight's, Blacks and Olsen snowmobiled at the cabin, which it seems has a record amount of the "white" stuff. I hear the Harris' and Eskildsen's will be there today or tommorrow! Have fun. Thanks for all the great things you all do to make Christmas so fantastic.
Kelli is on her way to her new home for Keeps! Love, Mom
